ABOUT IVAN RAMIREZ

Born in Ensenada B.C., México, Ivan Ramirez Salas, began liking motorcycles at the age of 5, when his father Raul Ivan Ramirez, gave him his first bike: a KTM 50cc.

Thanks to the unconditional support of his parents, Liliana Salas and Raul Ivan R.,he has developed great confidense in handling the bike. His father has played the role of trainer, while his mother has taken care of his health and well being in each race.

As he grew up, Ivan began to involve himself in the world of motorcycle racing, obtaining countless victories and great results quickly, changing bikes and climbing the categories as his level increased rapidly.

Ivan has raced since he was very young, in competitions held in México and the United States, initially in the form of motocross and supercross, where he acquired the skills and expertise required to compete at a professional level in Off Road, Grand Prix and Enduro events.

Thanks to the excellent results in his Off Road carrer, Ivan was quickly called to team up with the best racers in the State, despite his young age.

During his participation in the Class 21 category, during the SCORE International Baja 500 of 2007 race, Ivan defeated the official KTM USA factory rider, who was the favorite to win, given his level. In spite of this, Ivan left him behind in one of the most technical parts of the course, that passes through Mike’s Sky Ranch.

It was then that Chris Haines (known widely in the world of Off Road), took to the task of locating the rider that surprised everyone with his performance and ability to beat the KTM Factory Rider. When he finally met him he was very surprised with his young age, and immediately invited him to be part of his team and race his bikes (especially prepared for the Off Road races held by SCORE International), in the Class 21 category in 2008, and now, in 2009, in the stellar category: Class 22 Pro.

Motivated by the desire to become the best Mexican motorcycle rider, Ivan fulfills his strict daily training and care before each race, all this in order to obtain the best result in each competition he attends.

Ivan Ramirez has become known thanks to his victories and participations in races throughout the state, central Mexico and United States, but his most popular victories, of international importance, are with no doubt the SCORE Baja 500 of 2007, SCORE Baja 1000 of 2008, and of his SCORE International Class 21 category Championship in 2007.

In the search to become the first Mexican racer to win a Score International Race, in the stelar Motorcycle Pro Class 22, and specifically the first Mexican racer to win the Baja 500 or Baja 1000 within this category, Ivan Showed off in the 2009 edition of the Baja 500, in which he teamed up with Alberto Heredia and Brandom Prieto, all from Ensenada, obtaining 2nd. place in the motorcycle Pro. Class 22, being also the first Mexican to cross the finish line that day.

Known by the public and the motor sports world, as a high-level rider, Ivan has obtained important achievements and has been the subject of great interest of the state, national and international media.

In November 2010 Ivan participated for the first time at the ISDE (International Six Days Enduro) bringing  home  a Gold Medal. He was also champion in the Open category of serial WORCS.
